With
over twenty years of experience in the motorcycle safety training
and licensing industry, Gary Karmazyn is one of Canada's most
experienced motorcycle safety training and licensing industry
executives.
Mr.
Karmazyn established Motorcycle Training Consultants of Canada
(MTCC) in 1992 to help shape the future of the industry by providing
educational opportunities that would enhance the experiences
of current motorcycle riders and attract newcomers to the sport.
After
seven successful years at the local level, Motorcycle Safety
Institute was formed in August 1999 to help shape the industry
on a national and international level. As President and CEO,
Mr. Karmazyn oversees the companys New York- and Toronto-based
training operations, as well as its national and international
franchising division.
Prior
to forming MTCC in 1992, Mr. Karmazyn was a Commercial Account
Manager in the Banking and Trust Industry, and a Senior Instructor
with government-authorized Examiner Signing Authority in the
Canada Safety Council Motorcycle Training Program.
As
an industry stakeholder and committee member of the Ministry
of Transportation Education Review, Mr. Karmazyn was a key contributor
to setting policy and standards in Ontario prior to the introduction
of the Graduated Licensing System. Mr. Karmazyn was the first
to submit and receive approval in Ontario for an original curriculum
standard designed to meet the needs of the Graduated Licensing
System.
Mr.
Karmazyns work has garnered a number of industry awards,
including the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Award for Outstanding
Independent Program and the Canada Safety Council Instructor
Achievement Award in appreciation of long-standing service to
motorcycle safety. Mr. Karmazyn was also the recipient of the
Markham Board of Trade Business Excellence Award for Entrepreneurship
and Innovation in 1994.
